This is my annotated double page spread where I have analysed the layout, font, colour, photography and text which can be used to make a good successful double page spread which can be found in a magazine. All of these features are important to supply a positive impact on the reader.
Layout -
The majority of the page is taken up by the heading 'THE REVENGE OF MARK RONSON.' This highlights the fact that the page is dedicated to entirely that one artist 'Mark Ronson' The positioning of the heading is unusual as it goes not only landscape but also portrait on the page - this causes the readers eye to follow it around the page. The heading is big and bold further ensuring the reader knows what their reading. A single image is used on the page, along with mostly writing. The image takes up the right side of the page and the text the left. The reader is then able to follow the writing across the page.
Photography -
The single image on the page is eye catching. The pose especially is interesting. The way Mark Ronson is sat links to the heading. The word 'revenge' used is played upon in the image as mark is using a hammer getting revenge on the musical instrument. This is comical but also ironic. You can see the whole body on the page, so not focus is put solely on a certain part of the body. This could mean he is putting his whole body and energy into getting his revenge.
Fonts -
Fonts used on the double page spread come across as very samey. They all fit into a similar category, this is important as they don't clash and add coherence. It is simple but also classy, so it is easy to read and offers a professional feel - suggesting the magazine knows what it is doing. Some sections of text are in bold, focusing on important parts of the story. A larger letter has been used in two places on the page creating interest into something new within the feature.
Colours -
Not a lot of colour is used on this page. The only colour is used within the image. The rest of the page is a white background with black text. This makes the image a bigger feature on the page and the colour is more clear on the page. The use of black and white on the rest of the page gives it a simplistic feel as the reader is given more time to take in to information with out having to work against overbearing coloured font.
