Drafting and Planning: Audience Research

In the following week I am going to be completing two audience research questionnaires. I will posting the questions on various social media platforms, as my target audience are often online. I will also be doing a more physical questionnaire. This will then allow me to gather enough information to conclude my decisions. Previously I have done target research, so I know what I have to do to create a successful questionnaire that is imaginative, user friendly and interactive.

My questions will asks things about possible....

  • Magazine Names - What matches my music genre and ethos?
  • Colour Schemes - What will go together? What will reflect the pop genre?
  • Artist Names - Is an artist name important?
  • Masthead designs - What makes them memorable?

I will ask questions about things I have mentioned in previous posts, to see if they agree.
The questions will be based on the common conventions of a magazine. This will ensure everything is covered and match my target audience.  I will begin by creating the questionnaire I will then publish it for people to take part in the next week. I will  then follow by collecting all of my research and will analyse it carefully before publishing. I can then proceed in setting my ideas in stone.

My second questionnaire will be more focused on my potential target audience. I will use my first questionnaires results to help guide my second. The questions will be focused on my demographic but will also help me narrow down other decisions.
